Social Media

Social media is a great way to interact with others. The only warning I would give is basically common sense: Be careful what you post and don't let others negatively effect you. There will always be someone who wants to ruin your mood online, don't let them obviously. This community seems great so if needed, I don't see why you could not post here about issues etc.

 

My personal favourite social media site would be Snapchat; I was quite surprised that no one really picked this one up. Anyway, I always check Snapchat first thing in the morning to see snippets of people's lives which is more practical, in a sense, than reading about them on Facebook, for example. I believe that Snapchat does a great job in enabling you to be able to show people what you do in day to day lives; you can selectively choose who sees what, which is also another great thing about this particular social media site.

I do also regularly use Facebook, checking people's posts, timelines and liking or commenting on their pictures. However, I do feel Facebook doesn't really captivate peoples' interest like back in the day...does anyone else feel this way?

 

I would have to go with Facebook. I use it as a way to keep in touch with family and friends that I normally wouldn't have. I love looking at the family pictures and seeing relatives that I have never met and may never meet. I have also reconnected with a lot of old friends from my past. There may be a lot of drama on Facebook but you just have to stay clear of it and not let yourself get involved. I check out my Facebook a number of times through the day.

 

Instagram is my favorite social media site. In my opinion Facebook carries too many extra nonsense with all the gamming and what not. I enjoy being able to get on Instagram and just scrolling through my friends pictures without having to dodge all the random posts.

 

My favorite is definitely Instagram. I like taking pictures and being able to share what I'm doing with family and friends, so it's great for that reason. Plus I feel like it just doesn't have all that added drama that sometimes Facebook has.

I find it more fun, I guess!

 

I agree with what you are saying there amelia88, I feel that nowadays, Facebook has a lot of drama, possibly because of the way a lot of hackers are taking control of people's accounts. Moreover, I feel that Instagram is safer than Facebook due to the settings regarding privacy.

 

Yeah, the whole privacy thing worries me! They're always changing their settings and their terms and conditions about who has access to what you post - it just all seems like it's about money making and selling out your information to people on Facebook!
